#WeGotThisSeattle | Quarantine Series One | Seattle, Wa
I am sure no matter where you are in the world right now, you are experiencing this interesting new society called Quarantine.
At the beginning of this quarantine, I was devastated, I was no longer going to Europe, no longer going to a tropical island, no longer able to see people I love face to face. And as someone who thrives off of social interaction, the scariest thought of impending doom felt like it was rushing towards me.
But you know what… it’s not to bad. Yes, its awful, yes it isn’t an easy time to lie through. Definitely not discounting that
But it has given me lots to think and reflect on. And to get truly artistic with my feelings and emotions like I have not done in years! My emotions that felt like the world was ending allowed me to take a new perspective on urban adenturing and self-portraits (which I never do). And of course, reflect on what I do have in this world…..
I do have the ability to be grateful that I am able to travel,l I have an amazing job…(TWO actually) and have friends that love and care for me every day enough to check in with me. AND SO MUCH MORE.
This pandemic isn’t something anyone really saw affecting them the way that this new reality has shown them.
One thing these photos remind me of is the quotes and stories my clients get to tell me. As a therapist I get to talk to many different people and here are some of the things I have heard (anonymously of course…) :
“I get to get to know my partner better”
“I started writing the book I wanted to write”
“I painted after not painting for years”
“I slept!”
“I am scared”
“I just want a hug”
“I want to feel like I am worth it again”
This is such a wide variety of things I have heard but I list them because I think the wide emotional range is something important to the world. That’s why I have decided to go out (as much as I can) and photograph myself, the state that Seattle is in, as well as the beauty the world is showing off to us.
So please enjoy my ART. My EMOTIONS, and the manifestation of FEELINGS this world has given to us.
