Holi-Yay! or Nay Decor and More | Family and ALL for the Holidays

Soooo…it’s December and I am STILL stuffed from November’s events of get togethers and essentially family food competitions, with everything from my own engagement celebration (y’all I am head over barbell for my SO) to switching things up with a NEW website launch (you’ll probably have already noticed when reading this blog) it has been a crazy holiday season to say the least.

Holiday Vibes

I wanted to take this time to jot down and share some simple holiday decor, gifts and maybe even my favorite recipe ideas for whenever you see your fam fam or a cozy night in with the love of your life (even if that’s your cat, dog or pet fish). I have been so inspired with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest lately even on her gloomy days. Maybe this feeling is hitting me hard since I know we’re relocating to the desert in a few months, but something about the fog rolling through the forest, the softness of the clouds, the smell of the rain as it soaks through the cedar and douglas fir trees. I will never forget the feeling this region of the world gives me, it will always have a piece of my heart no matter where life takes me.

Refreshments, Of course

Some of my favorite holiday decor pieces are simple and often neutral enough to incorporate them into any celebration. Every year during the colder months I think it’s safe to say most of us love festive seasonal recipes or refreshments, personally spiced wine is one of my all time favorite things to enjoy during the holiday season, it just warms the tummy in a way that makes me wanna cuddle up with my fiance and doggo or to just relax and sip while I edit some holiday mini sessions!!

Warm Cuddles with Warm Fabrics

Speaking of “cuddling up” big chunky blankets are the BEST, I’ll just have a truck load of blankets bury me, thanks LOL!! They’re perfect staples to drape over a chair or couch or the end of your bed to give that warm welcoming feel to a space or you could wrap it around your body as you walk around your house with a blanket cape cause we all know the latter is the preferred choice. Flannels are also a fun seasonal item to have during the cold months, getting some flannels for each member of the family for a cute matching photo session is always a great way to bring out the smiles for that perfect annual holiday card you send out to everyone.

Photo Gifts

A few great gift ideas that aren’t as talked about much anymore are garden or house gnomes cause why not?! AND photo ornaments, I love these. I get a custom photo ornament of my fiance and I every year of something fun and memorable we did that year (I have a feeling this year’s will be giving that YES energy)!

Printing your galleries or creating custom gifts with your photos is such a perfect, creative and personal way to give something special to the ones you love. Still feeling stuck on what to do with your photos or if you don’t have a gallery with me yet then hit that BOOK NOW button and let’s make that happen, because it’s never too late to give something special to yourself no matter what time of year it is.
