Its all in the details | Wedding Ring Photography | Seattle and Beyond

How do you know you're about to get married?…well….The proposal of course. And with that comes an engagement ring. A shiny symbol of love and togetherness for ever.

Wedding rings are not only a symbol but also an actual ITEM! and they can be whatever you want them to me. Whether they are gold, tattoo, Fitbit, or silicone rings. Whether you buy it at Shane company, Amazon, or the really cool local jeweler you founding the middle of Barcelona. YOU get to make them show your couples personality and love.

One thing I learned very early on in my journey of wedding photography is the beauty and importance of capturing the wedding ring in my photography. It is so important to capture that special pieces because it can be a beautiful piece of art on your walls etc.

Side bar: Don’t forget to buy prints of your wedding. You never know what can happen with digital downloads, but you know print will last. So make sure you check out your own gallery shop for more!

But I digress, moving on. Wedding rings have become part of the wedding day for me that inmost special, unique and the most creative. As a wedding photographer I have found ENDLESS creative ways to make the “ring shot” the best shot of the day.

Here are a few tips for helping me make the BEST of your ring photos:

1. Bring your invites

I recommend of all my couples is to save one of your invites for your photographer to use on the big day. You can use these invites as a backdrop, or as something to have as a special reminder. Also, means your partner will never forget the wedding date if you have a photo of your invite! If you’re looking for some incredible invites, some of my favorite invite companies include Basic Invite and Minted. BY THE WAY.

2. Polish the Rings

This is important to make sure the rings do not appear dull, but have a great shine to them! This can help create that shiny and new feeling of having a wedding ring.

3. Have all the rings ready

What I mean by this is to make sure all the rings of all partners is set assigned and ready. Some weddings have two rings, some have three, so make sure they're all in one person and assign a wedding party member tone in charge, or a wedding coordinator as well.

4. Get a cute ring box!

Getting a cute little box for these items can be so fun and exciting as well! Etsy, is one of the best places to find amazing hand made boxes that match the style, vibe and overall creativity of your wedding. The boxes that jewelers provide can sometimes be bland and boring, so getting matching boxes, or a box for all the rings together can be a fun addition to your details.

5. Let me go wild!

okay, not actually wild. I’m not going to take your rings and run, but let me find the creativity in the space. I love having no expectations and being able to let my creativity flow!
