My Maui Favorites | 6 MUST See places | Maui, Hawaii, USA

I did something a little different over the holidays this year. Covid, made things a little interesting and Christmas was just a little more low key, but also as some of you may know, and may not know. My birthday is smack dab in the middle of christmas and new years. Yes that’s not that much time between, yes that means my birthday is the 28th. oof.

This year was a big birthday, I celebrated my 30th birthday. 30 years around the sun complete. Ew.

But anyways, my amazing mom set us up with a trip to Maui for a week. And what do you know, meaning we got away from the WILD snow storm/ TUNDRA that was Seattle.

So of course, going to Maui with Andrea means going to Maui with Andrea Michelle Photography. I couldn’t wait to pack up my camera, go pro, and allllll the bathing suits. It was about to be a great adventure through the tropics.

Now, I will spare the crap that was the actual trip to Maui. So in short, flying during a new variant of the COVID-19 pandemic, immediately after the holidays= 12 hours in the airport ON YOUR BIRTHDAY. Okay, vented I feel better. Now onto the actual adventure time.

One thing I LOVE doing while on vacations is trying out foods, and small maybe more locally things so I am going to leave you here with my favorite things to do in Maui with a camera, or without. Thats your prerogative.

Here are my top 6 Things to see and do in Maui

MauiWine

Maui Winery was amazing, the views of the water, the massive trees and let me tell you…The most creative wine I think I have ever tasted. My mom and I shared both flight offerings they had which included their 100% pineapple wine paired incredible goat cheese, with Lilikoi syrup on top! Now if Maui Winery does weddings, PICK ME. A wedding on their lawn, or a rehearsal dinner in their tasting room plantation house would be so stunning.

Surfing Goat Dairy

You’re probably over there wondering, what the? But surfing goat dairy was one of the cutest random spots we stopped at. We stopped here on a day drive between the distillery and the winery. It was a fabulous stop with HUNDREDS of goals, including babies that you can hang out with. Here we also tried a goat cheese flight, but there are other special treats you can get here as well. Like goat cheese truffles. I am desperately searching to see if I can ship goat cheese and truffles here for my next part!

Monkeypod

Yes, I am putting one single restaurant on here. I believe that Monkeypod was the best food, and drink we had the entire week. Some of you may know Monkeypod as Merrimans from Oahu, but if you’ve never had the worlds best Mai Tai. You’re in for a treat. I would book a trip to Hawaii just for this Mai Tai. We had such fabulous foods and even live music. The wait was long, but 100% worth the wait.

Hawaii Sea Spirits

Hawaii Sea spirits is a distillery on a hill (past the goat dairy) with an absolutely incredible view. This distillery is home to Ocean Vodka, Kula Rum, FY Gin, and Brum Rum. We didn’t do a tasting because we wanted to hang out and rest with the view and a cocktail. So we grabbed a few drinks, set up some of their lawn chairs to look over the whole valley of Maui. Not to mention having a “snack” of a maui pork pizza, and poke nachos to munch on. This place was also, family friendly and had so much outdoor space!

Haleakala National Park

This national park is fascinating. At first, it feels sort of lack luster, but as you continue to make the climb up the mountain you start to notice why it is the most elevation gain in the shortest distance. Once you are up at the top you get an incredible view of the observatory that brings us incredible views of outer space. DONT FORGET A JACKET!

West Maui Loop Drive

So no you’re here at number 6 probably wondering why the road to Hana is not on here. To be honest, I wasn’t incredibly impressed, but that may be because we didn't have the best weather or the chance to do the whole road. We did do it through (Peek waterfall photos at the bottom), But to be quite honest I thought the West maui loop was more stunning. The clip side views and the INSANE waves along the shoreline were incredible to sit and watch in the sun. The road is similar but better kept to than the road to Hana, but was absolutely stunning and breathtakingly full of views!

Just for viewing pleasure waterfalls from the Road to Hana
